Biography
The Tampa Metro Civitan Club is proud to announce that we are 88 years old and still going strong. Chartered on April 21, 1927, our service club is dedicated to helping individual and community needs in the greater Tampa Bay area, with a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. To name a few of our projects they include working with the Special Olympics Florida (state and local games), YMCA Neighbor-to-Neighbor Christmas program, The Salvation Army, and Angels Unaware group homes for the profoundly disabled, Buddy Baseball and Bakas Horse for the Handicapped. Also, Tampa Metro Civitan promotes good citizenship and volunteerism in the youth of the Greater Tampa Bay area by sponsoring Junior Civitan Clubs in local middle and high schools.
